The current bilateral relations are predominantly based on the framework agreements signed by the Flemish Government with the Government of Poland (in 1994) and of the 3 Baltic Republics, Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania in 1996. These agreements are implemented through tri-annual working programs, in which priorities and concrete cooperation projects are defined. The most recent bilateral cooperation programs were signed in 2021 with Poland and with Latvia and in 2012 with Estonia and Lithuania. These programs are the basis for a dynamic cooperation and an intensive exchange of expert delegations.
